Phaius Orchid

Commonly called the Nun’s Orchid

These come from Madagascar to the Philippines and the Pacific Islands. These are mostly terrestrial orchids.  The ruffled leaves have a pleasing appearance of growth even out of bloom.  They are shade loving and like to be kept evenly moist.  They do well potted in sphagnum moss.  When in their growth phase, fertilize weekly.  New growth will come up from the base of the plant. Remove faded leaves. Long lasting flowers.  These plant even when not in bloom are an attractive plant.  Good for growing indoors and easy to grow.
